Learn about the Saanich Peninsula Hospital

The acute care unit serves a diverse patient population and consists of a 65-bed facility divided into three sections. The Central Med section comprises 35 beds, offering medical-surgical care, including cardiac monitoring and post-operative care from a robust surgical program operating Monday to Friday. Specially trained RNs handle cardiac monitoring, and we provide opportunities for paid education to those interested in completing their dysthymia course.

We also have a 10-bed Palliative Care unit dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care. The South section consists of 20 beds and primarily caters to patients with complex discharges and extended hospital stays, including those awaiting long-term care placements.

Our 14-bed Emergency Department has recently introduced med-surg nurses and new graduates, along with RNs undergoing BCIT specialty training—a promising initiative aimed at enhancing emergency care capabilities and providing valuable training opportunities for healthcare professionals.
